Dates: 6-8 October 2026
Venue: UK Met Office, FitzRoy Rd, Exeter, EX1 3PB, UK.
Program starts at noon on Tuesday and ends Thursday around noon.
Remember the most visitors to the UK need either a Standard Visitor Visa or an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA), depending on their nationality (see https://www.gov.uk/eta for more details)
The Met Office is a government organisation, and so delegates will have to be registered with security (as part of registration), and will require Photo ID.
Young Scientists
We are happy to announce an opportunity for young scientists to attend the NOOS AM this year with NOOS covering the travel + hotel costs. We introduced this at last year’s AM in Dublin, and it was a great success!
“I really appreciated the opportunity to attend the 2025 NOOS Annual Meeting. I got to meet many other scientists from different countries also working on Northwest European Shelf oceanography, who I likely wouldn’t have had the chance to connect with otherwise. Hearing about the range of NOOS research has been valuable to my work and has given me a sense of community as a shelf seas researcher.” – Alice Richards, UK Met Office.
Candidates should
- Be under 35
- Be employed by a NOOS partner
- Work in relevant fields of operational oceanography, such as Observation networks, Ocean Modelling, Remote sensing, or the application of AI technology.
- Be connected/willing to connect to work of a NOOS working group
Candidates should apply to the NOOS SG (noos.sg@eurogoos.eu) before 1st June 2026 including your CV and a motivation.
